CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Dear Families,

G.E.O’Driscoll and Daughters would like to reassure everyone that although the restrictions that the Welsh Government has put in place have impacted the number of people allowed to attend a funeral, we will not let it affect our service or standards.

As key workers our staff are continuing to work, where possible from home and we continue to offer the same care and attention, remotely where possible, for your safety and theirs. When we are working in the office we work alone wherever possible and all staff travel in separate vehicles if attending a family home, nursing home, hospital or on the day of the funeral, except for those that live together.

For your safety arrangements can be made by telephone, email or zoom and paperwork can be completed via email or delivered to your door. Registration of deaths are also taking place by telephone and we will coordinate all logistics with the registrar, coroner, doctors, hospitals and burial or cremation authorities.

We are able to offer face to face appointments for arrangements to be made where that is preferred, and all the correct procedures are in place. We provide hand sanitizers and ask that you wear a face covering unless you are exempt, but we ask that this is done by appointment to ensure that only one family attends the premises at any one time and  so that we can ensure that adequate time is given in between appointments for rooms to be thoroughly cleaned. When an appointment is made, we need to check that no one attending a face to face appointment is showing possible symptoms of Coronavirus or has been asked to self-isolate and we ask that face to face appointments are restricted to two family members, or three where one requires assistance. Finally, we need to keep details of anyone who attends our premises for Track and Trace, and we have a QR code on display for your use.

Although crematoriums and cemeteries have restrictions in place on the number of people who can attend a funeral service, we are able to arrange live streaming and recordings of funeral services no matter where they take place, to allow everyone to attend virtually, if not in person.
